Venedocia Village Council
Venedocia Lions Club January 6, 2003
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen.
Roll call was taken with council members Jeff Davis, Vernon Hobbs, Paul Price and Robert Louth present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Prior to reading the bills there was a discussion about the bill from the village solicitor, Martin Burchfield. The council was charged for a letter sent to Mrs. Laura Koenig requesting that she relinquish information needed to complete her W-2's. The letter from Mr. Burchfield was sent upon Mrs. Koenig’s request to only be contacted through the village solicitor or harassment charges would be filed against the village.

Vernon Hobbs made a motion to pay all bills. Paul Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Old Business
Jeff Davis stated that some junk had been collected from the Perry Wise residence, but there was still quite a bit more to be removed.
New Business
Mayor Ruen assigned Jeff Davis, Vernon Hobbs, and Paul Price as designated voucher signers for the year 2003.
Vernon Hobbs made a motion to nominate Robert Louth as council president for 2003. Paul Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Robert Louth to obtain Bob Young as village solicitor. Vernon Hobbs seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Paul Price moved to continue to employ Kim Coil as village custodian. Vernon Hobbs seconded the motion. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Vernon Hobbs to continue to employ Rod Eutsler to provide lawn care for the park and Lions Club. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Jeff Davis moved to continue to employ Mill Pond Farms, Inc. for snow and ice removal for the year 2003. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Vernon Hobbs moved to use a blanket purchase order for the clerk to immediately pay all AEP bills for the year 2003. Paul Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Jenny Pugh stated that the council should consider shopping around for better CD rates. This matter will be revisited when the CD matures-in approximately 3 months.
Mayor Doug Ruen read the 2003 appropriations. Paul Price moved to approve the appropriations as prepared. Vernon Hobbs seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Robert Louth-aye Vernon Hobbs-aye Paul Price-aye Jeff Davis-aye
Motion carried.
Vernon Hobbs moved to adjourn the meeting. Paul Price seconded. Meeting adjourned. __________________
