Venedocia Village Council
Venedocia Lion’s Club November 3, 2003
Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen.
Roll
call was taken with council members Jeff Davis, Gloria Leiter, Paul Price,
Vernon Hobbs, and Robert Louth present.
The
minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The
bills were presented as follows:

Paul Price made a motion to pay all bills. Vernon Hobbs seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Old Business
It was reported that the grates have been replaced by
Rod Eutsler.
Mayor Ruen explained that Seuver Stone Quarry is very
busy and therefore, will probably not get to our project until Spring.
Mayor Ruen stated that students from the Spencerville
FFA are trying to get together to find a time to paint the playground
equipment.
Council members reported that the Jutte residence and
Eutsler residence have been cleared of the junk vehicles. Mr. Koenig is currently trying to find a
place to bury the concrete pieces.
New Business
It was brought to the mayor’s attention that the
Salem Presbyterian Church wants someone to be designated to unlock the church
in case of weather-related emergencies.
Mayor Ruen will further investigate this request.
Jenny Pugh reported that the village certificate of
deposit was automatically renewed on October 24, 2003. Because it renewed into another 14-month
term (maturity date will be 12/24/04), the funds must be declared
inactive. Paul Price made a motion to
do so, Gloria Leiter seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Jenny Pugh stated that in order to cover receipts for
the end of the year, $250.00 needs to be moved from the Lands and Buildings
Capital Outlay fund into the Boards and Commissions fund. Gloria Leiter made a motion to do so, Robert
Louth seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
It was brought to council’s attention that Ace
Hardware is looking for a yellow palate that was previously used by the
village.
Paul Price moved to close the meeting. Jeff Davis seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned.
