Village of Venedocia

 

 

                        Venedocia Lions Club                           October 2, 2006

 

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen with the following council members present:  Charlie Good, Lee Lare, Robert Louth, Paul Price, Jeff Coil, and Gloria Leiter.  Also present was village resident, Chad Pugh.

 

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

 

The bills were presented as follows:

Lee Lare moved to pay all bills.  Gloria Leiter seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Old Business

Mayor Ruen reported that the possibilities of a branch library have come to a close.  The Brumback Library states that it cannot fiscally support another branch library.  The money is being returned to the donors.

 

Mayor Ruen stated that garbage bags for Nat’l Serv-All can be purchased at Pick-N-Save and Marsh grocery stores and the recycling plant in Van Wert.  The phone number for Nat’l Serv-All is 260-747-4117.

 

Resident Chad Pugh offered to pick up bagged leaves for village residents for a small fee. The bags need to be placed along the side of the street.  Pugh’s phone number is 419-203-3520.

 

Councilman Good complimented the men’s Welsh Choir that visited Venedocia last month.

 

New Business

Council member Gloria Leiter stated that she had been approached about the youth group from Kingsley Church volunteering to do outside work for some of the village residents.  The jobs might include yards picked up, sweep the street, and wash windows.

None of the council members saw a problem with this idea.

 

Mayor Ruen would like to have a list made of all persons trained on the AED, as well as, a plan to get into the church to retrieve the AED if necessary.

 

Robert Louth moved that October 28th will be trick-or-treat night in the village.  Trick-or-treating will run from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a costume judging at the Lions Club at 8:00 p.m.  Gloria Leiter seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Jeff Coil moved for adjournment.

 

Next meeting will be November 6, 2006.
