Venedocia Lions Club October 1, 2007

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen with council members Lee Lare, Robert Louth, Charlie Good, Gloria Leiter, and Jeff Coil present.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Robert Louth moved to pay all bills. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Old Business

Councilman Lare contacted Bruns to clean the catch basins. Bruns could not guarantee that they would be able to get to the village yet this year. If not, they will attempt to service us in the spring.

Mayor Ruen reported that the Lion’s Club approved the purchase of the proposed playground equipment. A representative from Summers Landing in Elida visited the park to assess what equipment needed to be moved. All swings, monkey bars, and slides will need to be taken out, however the swings and monkey bars can be put back in another spot. The slides will not be returned.

Councilman Coil stated that street work should begin around November 1^st.

New Business

A discussion was held about the need for street cleaning, especially concerning fall leaves. Rod Eutsler will be asked to maintain the streets as needed.

It was noted that the mosquitoes are particularly bad right now, however it was decided that it would not be cost effective to spray at this late date.

Gloria Leiter moved to hold Halloween Trick-or-Treat night on Saturday, October 27^th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. A costume judging at the Lion’s Club will follow at 8:00 p.m.

The Village is looking for someone to put up the village announcement board on the town lot. If interested, please contact Mayor Ruen for further details.

Councilman Good noted that he has 2006 aerial photography of the entire Van Wert County on CD. If anyone is interested in viewing this, please see him.

Gloria Leiter moved for adjournment. Meeting adjourned.
