Village of Venedocia
Venedocia Lions Club July 6, 2010
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Larry Eutsler. The following council members were present: Charlie Good, Robert Louth, Paul Price, Gloria Leiter, Christina Young, and Lee Lare. Also present were village residents Marilyn Strickler and Sarah Kimmet.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Christina Young seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Old Business
Gloria Leiter will call attorney, Scott Gordon, and surveyor, Warren Foy, about the Kimmet survey.
Village resident, Sarah Kimmet, made note that the said rocks behind the village town lot are actually broken tile and asphalt from a job done to fix the sewer lines.
There has been no word on the Linedecker residence grant. Mayor Eutsler will call the County Health Department to gather information.
Plans have been made to pull out the large village display board, break off the existing concrete, and pour new concrete. John Lloyd should begin work on this soon.
The fiscal officer presented the budget for FY2011. After some discussion a motion was made by Charlie Good stating a fifty percent decrease in per meeting stipend for all council members for the year 2011, a fifty percent decrease in base salary and per-meeting stipend for the mayor for the year 2011, and a continuance of a twenty-five percent reduction in salary for the fiscal officer for the year 2011. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken with the following results:

A second reading of the Resolution Declaring it Necessary to Levy a Tax in Excess of the Ten Mill Limitation was read by Pugh. Charlie Good moved to accept this resolution. Lee Lare seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken with the following results:

Motion passed.
New Business
Village resident Marilyn Strickler raised awareness of the problems with roaming dogs causing barking throughout the night, as well as minors breaking the Van Wert County curfew of midnight. Charlie Good moved to draft a letter to be delivered to each village resident reviewing these ordinances. Christina Young seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Van Wert County Engineer’s Office will be contacted about the price of a street sign warning motor vehicle operators of a handicap child zone.
Portions of sidewalk near the Brent Price and John Stutz residences were torn out while the septic line was being worked on. A price to fix these problems will be investigated.
