Village of Venedocia

Venedocia Lions Club October 14, 2013

The October meeting was called to order by Mayor Larry Eutsler. The following council members were present: Lee Lare, Paul Price, Robert Louth, Christina Young, Margie Clement, and Gloria Leiter. Also in attendance were James Grant and Kimra Rowlett.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

The bills were presented as follows:

Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Lee Lare seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Old Business

No news on the street resurfacing project or the street reconstruction at State Route 116.

The mayor took two junk violations to the court house and the village solicitor’s office. One violation was hand delivered today. The other one will be as soon as possible.

New Business

Mayor Eutsler reported that the street light at Bebb and Main Streets is out.

Halloween trick-or-treating for the village was set for October 26^th from 6-7:30 p.m., with a costume contest at the Lion’s Club at 8:00 p.m.

Pugh read the resolution to agree to enter into a consortium with other area villages in the Van Wert County area for the purpose of being awarded grant money from the Van Wert County Business Outreach. Gloria Leiter moved to accept this resolution. Margie Clement seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken. All members indicated ‘yes’. Motion passed.

The village certificate of deposit is near its maturity date. It was decided to let the money roll over for another term at US Bank.

On another money matter, Christina Young moved to enter into an agreement with First Federal Bank for the purpose of securing the Village’s checking account. Lee Lare seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Pugh gave a brief recap of the recent CEU training she attended.

The next meeting will be November 4, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
