Village of Venedocia

Venedocia Lions Club August 4, 2014

The meeting was called to order by President of Council, Robert Louth. The following council members were present: Lee Lare, Tom Emery, Paul Price, and Gloria Leiter. Sarah Kimmet and James Grant were also in attendance.

The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved.

The bills were presented as follows:

Lee Lare moved to pay all bills. Tom Emery seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Old Business

The fiscal officer read the Resolution Declaring It Necessary To Levy A Tax In Excess Of The Ten Mill Limitation. Lee Lare moved to accept said resolution. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken, with a unanimous ‘yes’ vote indicated. Motion passed.

New Business

Tom Emery moved to accept the Certificate of Support to USDA Rural Development for Middle Point to purchase fire apparatus. Lee Lare seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Sarah Kimmet told the council about plans for the up-coming community garage sale to be held on August 15th and 16th. The villages of Landeck and Elgin will also be participating. She also spoke about two problems in the village. Two water pumps are not working. She also feels there is a bat problem in the village.

The next council meeting has been moved to the first Thursday of September (September 4^th at 6:00 p.m.) due to the Labor Day holiday.
