Old Business
Council person Leiter will order stop and speed limit signs.
The mayor stated that the paperwork will go in the newspaper for the lawn maintenance position. It will be run in all or a combination of The Delphos Herald, The Times Bulletin, and The Photo Star. Also see the village website for more details.
After Pugh read the paperwork to be filed against former Mayor Eutsler, Councilman Paul Price stated that he, not the mayor, gave the go-ahead on the sewer project because he was on the street department at the time. It was decided to drop the claim against the former mayor’s bond.
Leiter reported that according to Gordon, the dog ordinance needs to be rewritten in order for it to be affective. After discussion it was decided that all residents would receive a letter urging them to do some spring cleaning on their properties and to remind them to clean up after their pets. A few properties will receive violation letters due to the excessive amount of junk on their properties.
The mayor and council members will be going door-to-door asking the residents of the village to participate in an income survey to ascertain the need for grant funds. The funds will be used to do street work. Administration is asking that all residents fill out the paperwork when it is delivered. Young will be working on getting a list of addresses to give to Knapke.
New Business
Young and Kimmet noted that the village lawn mower is leaking oil.
The question was raised if volunteers could clean up the ball diamond and use it. No one on the council had a problem with this idea.
Anyone wishing to do a community-service project should contact the mayor or John Lloyd.
